  • Orson Vile ~ Storytime with Space Devils

  • These are pieces that Ray Galindo originally wrote for his college humor column—including “Televangelist Superstar,” which won First Prize for Best Humor Column in a Florida State college newspaper competition. They’ve been cleverly repurposed for The New World as performances by Orson Vile.
  • Orson Vile is a rogue journalist and poet who roams the cultural fringes of The New World, contributing irreverent critiques and absurdist satire to The GarbAge in his regular column, Neon & Noise. Often seen with a rolled smoke in hand, his habits raise eyebrows in a society where cigarettes no longer exist… unless you're a Deadender.

What is Orson smoking? Interpretations vary:

    • A Deadender Cigarette: He picked up the habit while covering their gritty club scenes—blending in to expose the chaos.

    • An NEP-Laced Roll: A spiritual journey via a mild hallucinogen, aligning him with The Mystery’s seekers.

    • A Smart Vape or Herbal Blend: A throwback image, modernized to suit The New World’s health ethics.

When asked why he smokes and what exactly it is, Orson Vile just smirks, takes a slow drag, and replies:

“You want the truth? It’s not some old-world cancer stick. This is an NEP-laced roll—picked it up in a back-alley club where the Deadenders hang. Helps me slip into their headspace. Let’s me see the cracks in this so-called perfect society, if you catch my drift. Could I smoke something else? Sure. But the ritual, the burn, the glow... it’s all part of the experience. It’s a doorway into that raw, unfiltered side of The New World we pretend doesn’t exist. And if anyone asks, I tell ’em I’m just breathing in the story.”

  • The Hurrahs (Estranged)

Spotlight: The Hurrahs – “Estranged”

  • The Hurrahs are a psychedelic power-pop explosion of youthful optimism and engineered harmony. Their debut single “Estranged” became a hit among teenagers in both Citizen and Deadender sectors, an unlikely bridge between polished utopian cool and underground rebellion. But are they real?

Nobody knows for sure if The Hurrahs are human or engineered. Rumors swirl that frontman Cosmo Boom doesn’t blink, and that Melody Blaze’s keys resonate with biometric frequency patterns...

Signed to Strawberry Records. Available on Bandcamp and ReverbNation. More music rumored soon.

Stay tuned for our upcoming Groovelines exclusive: “The Hurrahs: Rainbow Noise for the Next Generation”.

🎹 The Keyboardist (center-right, woman in yellow dress)

  • Name: Melody Blaze

    • Backstory: A classically trained pianist turned synth sorceress. Her sunshine smile hides a secret obsession with Moog patches and retro future fashion. In The New World, she’s also a part-time columnist for The GarbAge under the alias “Golden Chord.”

🎸 The Guitarist (center-left, brown shag haircut, red blazer)

  • Name: Jett Mercury

    • Backstory: A former Deadender teen idol who flipped sides after discovering the forbidden album Electric Eden. Known for his shimmering chords and wink-at-the-camera charm. Secretly in love with Melody Blaze.

🥁 The Drummer (far right, blond, striped jacket)

  • Name: Ricky Rocketson

    • Backstory: The clean-cut heartthrob of the group, always late to rehearsal but never misses a beat. Spent his early years building percussion rigs from discarded tech parts in Neon Row.

    • Known for his signature move: twirling his sticks mid-fill while chewing strawberry bubblegum.

🎤🎹 The Frontman (far left, spiked red hair, star glasses)

  • Name: Cosmo Boom

    • Backstory: Glam-cosmic energy in a human body. He’s the unofficial stylist of the group and insists on designing all the stagewear. May or may not be an android repurposed by Strawberry Records from a defunct game show host bot.

    • His star-shaped glasses are not removable.

🎭 The Hurrahs: Human or Engineered?

  • Officially, Strawberry Records claims The Hurrahs are "certified human Citizens of The New World, born and raised on pure rhythms and peace."
But off the record? Nobody knows for sure.

🎤 THEORIES IN CIRCULATION:

🧬 1. Genetically Enhanced Citizens

    • Evidence: Their perfect harmonies, synchronized movements, and sugar-smooth vocal blend seem... too good.

    • Rumor: The Hurrahs were genetically tuned in a Creative Optimization Lab—engineered with traits like perfect pitch, photogenic symmetry, and irresistible stage presence.

    • Supporters Say: “So what? The New World was built on enhancement. They’re just the next step in musical evolution.”

🤖 2. AI-Human Hybrids

    • Evidence: Cosmo Boom’s unremovable star-shaped glasses and strangely mechanical laughter have sparked speculation.

    • Fan Theory: He’s not fully human at all, but a reprogrammed android who escaped a Deadender amusement show and joined The Hurrahs.

    • What’s Weirder: No one’s ever seen him blink.

🚸 3. Entirely Human...but Carefully Chosen

    • Evidence: Melody Blaze’s emotional depth on the keys, Ricky Rocketson’s impulsive flubs during live Q&As, and Jett Mercury’s subtle stage anxiety.

    • The Fan Narrative: They’re “real” humans—but hand-picked from Citizen talent pools and groomed by Strawberry Records from age 10.

    • Implication: The Hurrahs might be The New World’s version of a manufactured boy/girl band. But in a utopia, is that such a bad thing?

Spotlight: The Hurrahs – "Estranged" and Their Bubblegum Truth                      Signed to Strawberry Records and released on Bandcamp and ReverbNation, The Hurrahs are a psychedelic power pop band drenched in bubblegum sweetness. Their hit "Estranged" is a phenomenon—beloved by young teens in both the New World and even in the Deadender sectors.

They’re bright, bouncy, and slightly too polished. Which means, of course, the conspiracy theories are already swirling in Deadender forums:

“Are The Hurrahs real?” “Is the keyboardist engineered?” “Why are all their songs so... happy?”

New World Citizens don’t ask these questions. They don’t need to. Identity is irrelevant. There’s no race, no gender roles, no nationalism—just art, joy, and presence. The Hurrahs just are.

But in the shadows of Deadender chatter, this kind of purity looks suspicious. And in true GarbAge fashion, we let the satire speak for itself.

Coming next issue: “Bubblegum Psyop? The Hurrahs Accused of Weaponizing Joy.”

Too Much This Not Enough That - Marcia White & The Ninth Floor

The GarbAge Neon Row’s Premier Pop & Style Magazine
FEATURE PROFILE | 3025.07.XX
Marcia White and the Sound of the 9th Floor
by Nova – Senior Contributor / Archivist of Style

The dim violet strobes of Club Static flicker across the faces of the entranced, the curious, and the jaded. All eyes are on her. Not on the statuesque backing band, their pristine poses unshifting between sets, but on Marcia White — the former Velvet Riot bassist who walked away from the brightest rising band in the New World. Why? Because her music needed fewer opinions and more precision. And because sometimes, the only voice you can trust is your own.
Marcia White doesn’t rehearse disagreements. She uploads perfection.

From Velvet to Chrome

Originally the harmonic heart of Velvet Riot, Marcia helped shape the early sound that now defines the Neon Row scene. But behind the glitter and synthesizers, there were fractures in tone. The song that sparked it? “Too Much This, Not Enough That.”
Written by Marcia and presented to the group with conviction, it was a raw, charging anthem—fast, furious, undeniably her. But the version that landed on Velvet Riot’s debut was slower, more pensive, written by Nova, polished into a moody glam reflection. It was a hit. But it wasn’t hers.
Marcia’s version, heavier and defiant, never made it past the neon-lit studio walls.
“I wasn’t angry,” she told The GarbAge in a rare sit-down. “I was clear. That clarity pushed me to create something of my own.”

Enter: The Ninth Floor
Named after the surreal Twilight Zone episode that haunted Marcia’s childhood dreams—“The After Hours”—her new band is built not from flesh, but from memory and machine.
The Ninth Floor is entirely AI-powered mannequins, programmed to execute Marcia’s musical vision without debate or dilution. Their stillness onstage unnerves some. Others call it mesmerizing. Either way, the result is revolutionary: the first major New World act to perform without a single living bandmate.
Marcia’s haunting new version of “Too Much This, Not Enough That” has become a late-night anthem on Neon Row’s underground streams. Faster, harder, heavier—pure electric rebellion with no compromise. Fans debate endlessly over which version is better, but Marcia rarely comments. “I don't compete with Velvet Riot. That was my past. This is the 9th Floor.”

A Friendly Rivalry, A Private Ache
Despite what the gossip zines scream, Marcia harbors no ill will toward Velvet Riot. In fact, she still attends shows and once shared a Harmony Fest stage with Rew Starr herself. The chemistry was palpable, even if Marcia says, “Rew will always be Queen of the Underground. I just want my own floor.”
She remains close with Didi and Annie, even exchanging encrypted joke riffs with Val Chrome late at night. The only tension? Seraphina. “She’s trouble in high heels. And I’m too tired to babysit a meltdown,” Marcia quipped.

The Future of Form and Feeling
What’s next for Marcia White & The Ninth Floor? A full-length debut is reportedly in production, combining Marcia’s poetic reflections on identity, forgetfulness, time, and detachment with the raw drive of her mannequin musicians. The working title? Plastic Saints.
But for now, it’s Too Much This, Not Enough That, reimagined and reborn on her terms, that pulses through every alley of Sector 7.
Marcia White walks alone. And somehow, that’s exactly the sound the New World didn’t know it was waiting for.

Too Much This, Not Enough That” – Marcia’s Version vs Velvet Riot’s??

@RiotCoreAnnie: ok I wasn’t ready for that 😭 she really made it rock. I miss her in VR but...this is 🔥🔥🔥
@VelvetBones77: Honestly? Marcia’s vocals on this are raw. More aggressive. Velvet Riot’s version was dreamier but this one shouts the message.
@StarrbornRew: Not gonna lie, I wish we had released that arrangement. But we needed to make space for Rew’s vibe too. This is Marcia’s world now.
@DollHausQueen: The mannequins freak me out. But I can’t stop watching.
@NineFloorsUp: Marcia isn’t trying to “outdo” anyone. She’s just... finally being heard. I love them both.
@SecretChordBuzz: Y’all realize this is the first band on Neon Row with no human players besides the singer?? That’s wild. No attitude, no ego. Just pure programming.

The GarbAge Exclusive: Marcia White Ascends to The Ninth Floor
Interview by Orson Vile
Location: Backstage at The Psychedelic Pepper Tree, Neon Row, Sector 7.

She steps into the neon shimmer like she owns it—platinum hair sharp as her stare, leather dress tighter than the stage she’s about to command. Marcia White is not interested in your nostalgia. She’s here to rewrite your expectations.

Orson: Marcia, this is your first time back at the Pepper Tree since your Velvet Riot days. How does it feel?
MARCIA: Like déjà vu with better lighting. I used to stand right there, behind Val’s kit, dreaming of the spotlight. Now it’s mine. And I brought my own band.

OrsonThe Ninth Floor is... unconventional. AI-powered mannequins, zero live musicians. Isn’t that a little lonely?
MARCIA: Not lonely. Liberating. I don’t argue with them. I don’t have to compromise. Every note is played exactly as I intended it. That’s not synthetic—it’s pure.

OrsonAnd yet, your biggest hit so far is Too Much This, Not Enough That—a song Velvet Riot released with different lyrics and a slower tempo.
MARCIA: (smiles) Their version is nice. Mine is honest. Sometimes you need the volume cranked up to get people to listen. I’m not here to whisper. I’m here to shout.

OrsonYou’re still on good terms with the Riot Girls?
MARCIA: Of course. I love them. Didi and Annie still send me voice memos. Rew and I have this running joke—she’s “The Queen of the Underground,” and I’m the...well, I guess I’m the architect of the 9th Floor. I admire her. But admiration doesn’t mean submission.

OrsonAnd Seraphina?
MARCIA: She wants me to visit the Deadender sector. I love her like a sister, but I’m not ready for that kind of darkness. I believe in art as light.

OrsonYour band doesn't blink. Does that ever unnerve you?
MARCIA: Only when they play better than I do. (laughs) But seriously, their stillness gives me room to move. I’m the chaos. They’re the calm.

OrsonWhat’s next?
MARCIA: Another single. A mini-album. Maybe a live holo-set. I’m not building a monument. I’m building a mirror. If people see themselves in my music—even if it’s a cracked reflection—I’ve done my job.

📍Catch Marcia White & The Ninth Floor at the Neon Row Harmony Festival next moon cycle, headlining the “Great Women of Music” showcase. Strawberry Records is already hinting at vinyl.

You’ve never heard perfection quite this artificial.

Space Devils is the collaborative identity through which lyricist and conceptualist Ray Galindo brings his vision to life—combining human storytelling with AI-generated music in a seamless creative fusion.

When Ray writes the lyrics and AI creates the music:
Ray Galindo: Lyrics
Space Devils: Music

When a song is written for a character or artist within The New World (like Velvet Riot or Dante’):
Ray Galindo / Space Devils as Velvet Riot

When both the lyrics and music are created through AI (often based on Ray’s world):
Space Devils: Words & Music
Performed by: Space Devils as [Character Name]

This ensures clarity of authorship, celebrates co-creation, and honors the tools and minds behind the music. Ray’s genius lies not in owning every note—but in architecting an ever-expanding artistic reality.

This isn’t just a project. It’s a living mythos.

It’s not just a band. It’s a universe.
