Child: Mommy, are you mad at me? Mommy: No honey, I’m not mad at you. Child: Is Daddy mad at me? Mommy: No, Daddy’s not mad at you. Child: Did I do something bad? Mommy: No Child: Is God mad at me? Mommy: No, God is not mad at you either. Why are you asking these questions? Child: I think God is mad at me. Mommy: Why do you think that? Did you do something to God? Child: No, I don't think so. Mommy: So why do you think that me or daddy or God are mad at you? Child: Somebody told me. Mommy: Who told you that? Child: A mean man on TV. Mommy: A mean man on TV told you that? Who was this mean man? Child: He was on a show that you and daddy were watching. Mommy: What show was that? Child: I don't know. I was in my room and I heard the TV. Mommy: When was this? Child: Sunday. I heard a mean man screaming that I needed to be forgiven. Mommy: You heard a mean man screaming on TV? Child: Yes he said that we are sinners and we need for God to forgive us. Mommy, what's a sinner?Mommy: It's people who do bad things. Child: But you just said that I didn't do anything bad. Mommy: You didn't. Child: Did you or daddy do something bad? Mommy: Well...no. I don't think so. Child: So we're not sinners? Mommy: Honey, we're all sinners, but God forgives us. Child: But if we didn't do anything bad, why does God have to forgive us? Mommy: Because that's what it says in The Bible. Child: What's The Bible? Mommy: It's the book that God wrote. Child: God wrote a book? When? Mommy: Oh, a couple of thousand years ago. Child: How could he say in his book that I am a sinner when I wasn't even born yet? Mommy: God knew you before you were born. Child: Did you and daddy know me before I was born? Mommy: Well, um, no Child: Did you and daddy know God before I was born? Mommy: Well, yes. We knew God before you were born. Child: Did God tell you that I was gonna be a sinner when I was born? Mommy: Well, in a way, yes. Child: Then why did you have me? Mommy I'm scared. Can you send me back?
